The ACPI-Compliant Control Method Battery component provides support for Advanced Configuration and Power Interface (ACPI) Control Method Batteries, which are batteries with an ACPI Machine Language (AML) code control method interface between the battery and the host PC.
You can use any type of communication interface supported by ACPI and any type of battery because the battery interface is completely accessed by AML code control methods.
There are no configuration requirements for this component.
Battery monitoring and management is only available on ACPI-enabled and APM-enabled computers. Windows can manage batteries that have a Smart Battery subsystem interface or a Control Method Battery interface on ACPI-enabled computers. Windows can also monitor multiple batteries.
For more information on the ACPI-Compliant Control Method Battery component, see the Windows 2000 Professional Resource Kit at this Microsoft Web site.
