Troubleshooting connection issues

What problem are you having? On the Manage E-mail Invitations page, the invitation has a "Resend Required" status.
Cause: If you use a dialup Internet Service Provider (ISP) to connect to the Internet, your IP address may be pulled from a pool of IP addresses each time you log on to your ISP's network. If you disconnect from the Internet after your Remote Assistance invitation is sent, with reconnection, you may be assigned a new IP address, which will be unrecognizable to your assistant's computer.
Solution: On the Manage E-mail Invitations page, select the invitation you want to resend and click Resend. Then follow the instructions to send a Remote Assistance invitation.

What problem are you having? A connection cannot be established with the assistant.
Cause: Your assistant may be on a local area network (LAN) that uses a firewall-a combination of hardware and software that provides a security system. Before a remote connection can be established, your assistant will need to add port 3398 for outbound transmission control protocol (TCP).
Solution: For information about adding a local port, see To add a local port.

Cause: You may be on a LAN that uses a firewall.
