CD-ROM Drive with No Audio Cable Installed<o:p></o:p></span></b></p>
<p>When you put a CD-ROM in a CD-ROM drive that you usually use for data
CD-ROMs, you may notice that the CD-ROM plays the sound files on that CD-ROM
even though there is not an audio cable attached to that CD-ROM drive. This
behavior can occur if your sound card driver supports Digital Audio Extraction
functionality. </p>
<p>To work around this behavior, disable the Digital CD Audio feature in the
properties of the CD-ROM drive: </p>

and then click <b>Control Panel</b>. </li>

mso-list:l0 level1 lfo1;tab-stops:list .5in'>Double-click <b>System</b>,
click the <b>Device Manager</b> tab, and then double-click <b>CDROM</b> to
expand the branch. </li>

mso-list:l0 level1 lfo1;tab-stops:list .5in'>Click to highlight the CD-ROM
drive, click <b>Properties</b>, and then click the Properties tab. </li>

mso-list:l0 level1 lfo1;tab-stops:list .5in'>Click to clear the <b>Enable
Digital CD Audio</b> check box, click <b>OK</b>, and then click <b>OK</b> to
close the System Properties dialog box.</li>
